Google Blasts Apple’s New iPhone Advertising Terms

Google Inc. (GOOG) has blasted Apple Inc.’s (AAPL) new rules for its iPhone and iPad operating system, saying the changes would prohibit application developers from using Google’s advertising technology on the devices.
Apple’s new terms, posted to developers on Monday, target companies with competitive mobile technologies, such as Google, as well as any company whose primary business is not serving mobile ads, said Omar Hamoui, founder of Google’s recently acquired AdMob mobile advertising unit.

In just eight weeks, Apple’s infant mobile advertising effort has emerged as a serious contender to challenge Google Inc for the crown in the fast-growing new ad market.

Virgin Mobile GSM services launched in six telecom circles

Virgin Mobile has launched GSM services in six telecom circles, including Uttar Pradesh (East), UP (West), Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Kolkata and Bihar.
Now, Virgin has GSM services in a total of 14 telecom circles, where its business partner Tata Teleservices Limited (TTSL) has its GSM operations under the Tata DoCoMo brand.
Virgin Mobile services are being offered to the Indian consumers by TTSL through a brand franchise with Sir Richard Branson-promoted Virgin Group.Virgin Mobile, which started its India operations in March 2008, also offers CDMA services.

EA sells rights to Mass Effect film

Legendary Pictures has bought the rights to a Mass Effect film from Electronic Arts in a deal which sees key staff from BioWare signing up as executive producers for the project.According to The Hollywood Reports the film has already found a writer too - I Am Legend’s scribe, Mark Protosevich.
BioWare founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk will be involved in the project, along with Mass Effect game director Casey Hudson, all as Executive Producers. The film will be produced by Avi Arad, Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni.
